April 10, 2020

The Snow Funeral Home is taking a proactive position in confronting the Coronavirus pandemic. We are walking a fine line between honoring and serving the wishes of the families we serve, contrasted with the guidelines and mandates from the CDC, local health departments as well as the State of Michigan. As the world and our community responds to the spreading of COVID-19, we, too, must take cautionary and recommended steps to keep everyone safe. To better serve our community with abundant care and in gratitude for the trust you have placed in us, the Snow Funeral Home is now taking precautionary measures, which affect all of us, as we collectively face this current state of emergency.

On the afternoon of Thursday, April 9, 2020 Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a new Executive Order (E.O. 2020-42) extending her earlier "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order to April 30th. Unlike her previous order, however, the Governor specifically listed attending a funeral as an essential activity for which individuals may leave their home or place of residence, "provided that no more than 10 people are in attendance at the funeral."

Until further notice, we will be offering the following services and exercising the following safeguards

• Graveside services will be provided for immediate family only.
• There will be no public visitations, in-house memorial services, or church services.
• If you would like to hold a public memorial service for your loved one at a later date, such services will be provided once this state of emergency is lifted.

Please note that we are encouraging people to continue to send condolence messages to families via our webpage and also know that most of our local florists will still deliver floral tributes to family homes upon request. We have also implemented a solution to livestream funeral services whether in our facility or another location for those that choose that option.

This community deserves the utmost level of professionalism in funeral services as well as a funeral home that exercises attentiveness to the communal needs. These safeguards are set in place in order for Snow Funeral Home to continue providing such services and to demonstrate that attentiveness.

Sincerely,

The Staff of Snow Funeral Home
