Donald H. Adams

U.S. Veteran

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 81 years. The son of the late Herbert and Sadie (Curbey) Adams, Don was born July 1, 1931 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the Marine Corp. League, Korean War Vets and American Legion Post #439. Don married JoAnn F. Goddeyne, his loving wife of 52 years, on October 24, 1959. She survives him. Don was employed as an aircraft mechanic for Dow Chemical Tri-City retiring December 31, 1992. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Msgr. Thomas R. Horton Assembly #2049. He was also a member of the Walkers Club at Fashion Square Mall. Don enjoyed fishing, golfing and working in the yard. Surviving besides his wife JoAnn are one son, Greg and Deanna Adams, Marquette; two grandsons, D.J. and Mathew Adams, Marquette; and several special friends. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Entombment will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Msgr. Thomas R. Horton Assembly #2049 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Toys for Tots.
