Elnor L. Waugh

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late Maurice and Elsie (Wilson) Hanggi, Elnor was born October 16, 1930 in Sterling, Michigan. She married John F. Waugh on February 2, 1950. He predeceased her October 1, 2006. Elnor earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Saginaw Valley State University and had taught at the Millet Center and later at the Saginaw Township Schools until her retirement in 1993. Elnor was a member of Community of Christ. She was also a member of the Germania Towne & Country Club and the Saginaw Garden Club. Elnor was very energetic and actively participated in golfing, jet skiing, walking and enjoyed her cottage on Lake Charlevoix and her time spent in Panama City Beach, Florida. Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Tanda (Tim) Waugh Cogley, Saginaw; John (Sue) Waugh, Essexville; Jeffrey M. Waugh, Freeland; six grandchildren, John J. (Elana) Waugh, Bryan Waugh, Scott Waugh, Elizabeth Waugh, Trenton Waugh and Anastasia Meadows; three great-grandchildren, John, Kate and Sophie Waugh; a sister, Phyllis Ostrowski, Midland; several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service took place at The Snow Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will take place 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Community of Christ, 300 N. Center Road in Saginaw. Evangelist Jack Ergo will officiate. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Community of Christ or the Cartwright Hospice Residence.
