Thaddeus F. (Ted, Thad) Schultz

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center. Age 85 years. The son of the late Bert and Magdeline (Raft) Schultz, Ted was born March 9, 1927 in Carrollton, Michigan. He married June L. Guyott on October 9, 1948. She predeceased him November 3, 2009. Ted was employed at Prudential Life Insurance Company for 34 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock. Ted also played drums and sang in various orchestras around the Saginaw area for 40 years. While he was a resident at Community Village, he regularly entertained residents and staff by playing the saxophone and singing.

Surviving are four sons, one daughter and their spouses, David and Kenna Schultz, Huntsville, Alabama; William and Pamela Schultz, Linden; Ronald and Cheryl Schultz, Alamogordo, New Mexico; James and Sheila Schultz, Madison, Mississippi; Mary and Douglas Jordan, St. Charles; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-granddaughters; four brothers, James (Colleen) Schultz, Bernard (Sheila) Schultz, Jerome (Roberta) Schultz, Robert (Patricia) Schultz); many nieces, nephews and dear friends at Community Village especially Tina. Ted was preceded in death by two sons, John and Thomas Schultz.

Honoring Mr. Schultz’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Friends may call at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers and in his remembrance, Ted’s family would invite you to share dinner with your parents, family member or friend.
