Marie J. Gerhardt

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 89 years. Daughter of the late George and Malvina (Fortin) Maillette, Marie was born February 24, 1923 in Bay City, Michigan. She was married to Joseph B. Gerhardt on April 14, 1951. He predeceased her May 16, 2009. Marie was employed at Dudewicz and Epting Drugs in Buena Vista. She was a member of Ss. Casimir and George Catholic Church and its Altar Society, League of Catholic Women and the Red Hat Society. Marie enjoyed baking. Surviving are one daughter and three sons, Anne Marie Gerhardt, England; Joseph P. (Audrey) Gerhardt, Saginaw; Steven G. (Karen) Gerhardt, Saginaw; Paul B. (Christina) Gerhardt, Texas; four grandchildren, Steven, Zachary, Alexa and Dylan; a three great-grandsons, Ethan, Pierson and Zachary; many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers, Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, OFM Cap. will officiate with a private entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice.
