Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 80 years. The son of the late Ralph and Palma (Torchia) Vescio, Nick was born November 23, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Joyce Pickelmann, his loving wife of 61 years, on August 19, 1950. She survives him. Nick and his brother Lou had owned and operated Vescio Supermarkets for 50 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife Joyce are a son, Thomas (Kirsten), Muskegon; a daughter, Karen (Geir), Ann Arbor; a grandson, Nicholas T. (Nicole); a great-grandson, Collin, all of Calgary; a brother, Louis (Eileen) Vescio, Saginaw; a sister, Mary Jean (Gerald) Platko, Caseville; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vescio’s private interment has taken place at St. Andrew Cemetery. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate. Friends may call at St. Stephen Catholic Church where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
